Okay, I am going to start making and collecting swatches for myself, so that when I design a new garment I have a physical sample of the stitch on hand. I am going to try and create one swatch per day and share it with you, my readers. We'll see how long this lasts ;)
Here is my first:
"Double Barred Ribbing"
Multiple of 4 + 2
Row 1: P2 *yf, sl 2 pwise, p2*, rep *to*
Row 2: K2, *p2, k2*, rep *to*
Repeat these two rows for pattern
Front
Back
This pattern goes really quickly 'cause you are slipping half the stitches on one of the rows. I like the effect of the bars on the facing side. The wrong side just looks like 2x2 ribbing.
Good luck on your swatch a day goal! Now that it's out on the internet, we'll keep you accountable for it! lol. ;)
ReplyDeleteFall is around the corner. Need to dust off my knitting needles and start knitting myself a scarf!
Yeah, once you announce somethin' in public you kinda have to follow through. I am looking forward to the challenge as I have been wanting to do this for a while and it really takes no time at all.
ReplyDeleteKnitting is something you can do all year!
